Yes. Viettel covers around 99% of the population, Vinaphone is around 85-90% of the population. That means, our Vietnam eSIM covers include major cities and tourist destinations nationwide, like Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, Da Nang, Nha Trang,... also the remote areas.
Absolutely. Your WhatsApp remains linked to your original number even while using the eSIM. With all plans, you can make a call and send text messages via WhatsApp as usual while using the mobile data available in the eSIM plan.
Because Wi-Fi is required for installation, we recommend setting up your eSIM before departure. Then simply activate your data plan when you land in Vietnam and get online right away.

Yes, the plans covered by Vinaphone and MobiFone come with a phone number while the ones covered by Viettel and Skyfi do not. If you want to have a local phone number for more convenience, we recommend you choose the eSIM plan from Vinaphone or MobiFone. With this choice, you can phone calls and text using Vietnamese phone number.
Activation depends on the network you choose, so your plan begins exactly when you’re ready to use it:
  • Viettel plans: Start immediately after you scan and activate the QR code. For best value, install one day before your trip or upon arrival in Vietnam. 
  • Vinaphone plans: Activate automatically the first time your phone connects to the local network. 
  • Skyfi (MobiFone MVNO): Starts once you arrive in Vietnam and connect to the Skyfi network. 
  • Local / MobiFone plans: Begin as soon as you tap the Activate button in the QR link or follow the activation guide sent to your email.
Viettel plans should be purchased within 15 days before your trip, while plans powered by Vinaphone and Local/Skyfi/MobiFone can be purchased up to 30 days in advance. You can safely keep the QR code in your email until then - just don't buy it too early, as the code will expire after this period.
The local number is mainly for calls within Vietnam and is not guaranteed to work for app registration or verification (such as Zalo, banking apps, or similar services).
